For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction!

Developing mobile CNC-robotic milling machines for single-cycle operation weld profiling and fatigue strength improvement in large steel structures is a physics challenge first and foremost.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction! Newton’s third law governs the action-reaction pair of forces that milling tools and steel structures exert on each other. Managing that interaction force pair and preventing resonance vibration is key to delivering productivity and quality.

We recently completed alpha testing of our chatter suppression solution for preventing resonance vibration in CNC-robotic weld profiling and fatigue strength improvement of inside and outside circumferential welds in wind turbine support structures.

The solution is unique and is applicable also the weld profiling robots we are planning for use in ship building and other large steel structure construction.

The patent application has been filed and beta testing is well under way. We are now looking forward to demonstrating the robot to producers of monopiles, transition pieces and towers wanting to increase productivity in weld profiling 20-fold, deliver uniform quality and reduce the cost of fatigue strength improvement by up to 80 %.
